My Story
Hello,
I’m Akshat Santhana Gopalan.
I founded Small Actions with a simple but powerful belief: even the smallest steps can shape a better future for humanity and our planet. As a student, I may be young in years, but my passion for service, sustainability, and technology is deep and unwavering.
My journey began when I recognized the urgency of today’s environmental challenges—the climate crisis, unsustainable consumption, and the growing strain on our natural resources. Rather than feeling powerless, I saw an opportunity to act. I realized that Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are not just tools for industry or profit, they can be instruments of hope, healing, and global transformation.
With this vision, I set out to build smallactions.org, a platform where awareness meets innovation. The site harnesses AI not just to raise consciousness about sustainability but to actively generate solutions that individuals and communities can implement worldwide.
From optimizing energy use and reducing waste to inspiring behavioral change at scale, I believe AI can be a true ally in the fight for a sustainable future. Yet, my mission is not only about solving environmental problems, it’s about reimagining technology as a force for social good.
Too often, AI is portrayed as a tool of profit or power. I want to challenge that perception. To me, AI must be ethical, inclusive, human-centered and built to serve people and the planet, not exploit them. This philosophy drives my work and fuels my commitment to shaping a responsible future for technology.
Small Actions is more than my project, it is a call to action for all of us. I hope my story shows that age is no barrier to impact. When guided by compassion, creativity, and determination, even one person can ignite meaningful change.
